Information You Provide
Search Terms
When you type a name, location, or similar query into a search tool on the site, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Scott County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and maintain ordinary business records. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid government order.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, the site may receive basic technical information when a page loads.
- IP address.
- Browser type and browser version.
- Device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- Referring website, when a browser provides it.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site traffic, remember technical preferences, and measure performance. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although some features or measurements may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the partner service that handles the search box.
- To understand which Scott County jail, court, DOC, or facility pages visitors use most.
- To diagnose errors, security issues, broken links, and other technical problems.
- To support advertising that may be based on general interests or page activity.
Other Websites
The site links to Scott County Sheriff's Office pages, the jail roster, Minnesota court and DOC resources, federal locators, and outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination site's privacy policy and data practices apply.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and deliver interest-based ads. Those tracking tools are controlled by the advertising partner, not by Scott County Inmate Population.
